Enhancing North Carolina ECONet soil moisture estimation using AMSR-E, Precipitation, and Evapotranspiration Data. It has been found that AMSR-E and ECONet cannot be used together to estimate soil moisture across North Carolina. Evapotranspiration and precipitation from the State Climate office will be used to quantify correlation to ECONet soil moisture. ECONet soil moisture will also be compared to AMSR-E brightness temperature in hopes of using them together to interpolate soil moisture across NorthCarolina. If not, AMSR-E correlation to precipitation and evapotranspiration will be evaluated. If both AMSR-E and ECONet are highly correlated to precipitation and evapotranspiration then we will consider using them as a link to interpolate soil moisture across NC.
