With the help of Dr. Chad Godsey, the cropping systems specialist at Oklahoma State University, the Agronomy Club organized a peanut fundraiser. The yearly fundraiser is an instrumental part of the club’s budget and helps provide the club with financial stability to provide club activities for the members to attend throughout the year. Members of the Agronomy Club and Dr. Godsey planted, maintained, and harvested the peanuts for the fundraiser. After the peanuts were harvested from the field, the members cleaned, shelled, and bagged the peanuts to be sold throughout the Stillwater community. The fundraiser was such a success that the club already has orders for more peanuts for next year. The fundraiser was a great opportunity for Agronomy Club members to get hands-on experience in peanut production and promote Oklahoma peanuts.
