ABSTRACT WITHDRAWN

To increase the awareness of farming safety, the University of Illinois Field and Furrow club decided to create a new philanthropy.  The club created a power-point presentation, poster, and many demonstrations to promote the awareness of farming safety in adolescents. Club members went out to many middle schools and high schools throughout the state of Illinois to spread the importance of farm safety. The presentation also included a tragic farming accident that recently happened to a University of Illinois Field and Furrow club alum. The students were unaware of how dangerous farming activities could be and were very appreciative of the time members spent with the students. Field and Furrow club members were pleased to increase the awareness of safety in farming for adolescents. The members can be confident that the children now have the knowledge to save their own life as well as others in the future if a farming related emergency should arise.
