No-till (NT) corn has gained wider acceptance among the US farmer. However, long-term effects of NT on global warming potential are not well known. On-farm study conducted in NT corn studied the effects of NT on trace gas emissions and global warming potential. A two year study conducted in Ohio indicated an decrease in CO2 emissions and CH4 consumption and increase in N2O emissions and global warming potential. Soil moisture and temperature control of trace gas emissions will be discussed under NT farming.
