The Agronomy Club, with the help of Dr. Sarah Lancaster, organizes and sets up a booth representing the Plant and Soil Science Department at the Oklahoma Youth Expo (OYE) annually. The OYE is the world’s largest junior livestock show, with over 700 4-H and FFA members from all over the state of Oklahoma. Because of the large number of junior exhibitors, this is a great opportunity for the Agronomy club as well as Oklahoma State University Plant and Soil Science Department to interact with and recruit future students to become leaders of the agronomy community. Our goal is to educate and inform elementary through high school students about the abundance of opportunities available to them with the Plant and Soil Science Department at Oklahoma State University. By doing this we help to ensure progress in our club, university and the entire agronomy field by growing students with deep roots.
