Abstract:
Accurate quantification of spatially variable soil physical properties as well as associated soil water dynamics and soil water extraction and/or plant root water uptake is essential for developing robust management strategies for variable rate irrigation and fertigation. Spatial and temporal soil water distribution and re-distribution and extraction can enable us to better understand water and nutrient distribution and uptake dynamics, which can significantly aid in precision agriculture applications. This presentation will analyze the spatial distribution of soil water dynamics and maize productivity response to various irrigation and nitrogen levels.
