Abstract:
Duckweed and Juncus callus cultures were screened for phenol resistance and tested for its phytoremediation capabilites. The callus cultures were treated with increasing concentrations of fluorophenol and trifluoromethyl phenol (100-500uM) over a period of five months. The callus cultures were then regenerated to fully grown duckweed and juncus plants and tested for their capability to remediate water treated with 10uM mixture of fluorophenol and trifluoromethyl phenol.
