Abstract:
Innovative teaching methods which include online, flexible and distance learning are being utilised to teach soil science to students of agricultural and environmental science at Charles Sturt University, Australia.  We describe the methods used and discuss the positive and negative aspects from both the student and instructor perspectives.  We also present 9 years of student results and feedback regarding this form of teaching and compare it to feedback from students in the same programs studying via traditional face to face methods.
