Abstract:
Economic security and environmental quality are not at odds, in fact one can be leveraged at greater advantage of the other by implementing “triple bottom line” practices.  This approach calls for intense collaboration between soil scientists, policy-makers, and the agribusiness community.  Our team utilized this program in southern Afghanistan by facilitating the local agricultural community to adopt best management practices.  In this session we shall share case studies, examples, personal anecdotes, best management practices, results, and visual displays of our methods at work.
