Abstract:
Samples collected from 48 fields in southern plains region of the U.S. were used to evaluate the impact of select soil characteristics on carbon stock measurements.  An effort was also made to evaluate the portion of the variability in carbon stocks resulting from variability in bulk density vs. that resulting from variability in organic carbon concentration analysis.  In addition, the potential impact of small (<5%) analytical errors in the analysis of carbon concentrations will be discussed.
