Abstract:
Remote sensing techniques to acquire data sensitive to crop status, such as water or nitrogen stress diagnosis, appear particularly promising. Measurements from remote sensing systems can be performed rapidly over large land areas, causing no disturbance to plants. Relatively new methods using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) can be revolutionary for further development of remote sensing in agriculture. We present preliminary results obtained from the UAV (Unmanned Aircraft Systems – UAS) microdones equipped with sophisticated devices to monitor crop nutrient and water stress at plot and field scale.
