Oral Session
ACS530 Early Career Member
The purpose of this session is to present mentoring best practices and give attendees tips for the improvement of their mentoring skills. Whether at an early or established stage of their career, this session will provide participants with a primer on best practices and common issues/pitfalls, general guidance, and tips for the improvement of their mentoring skills. An expert in these topics will present mentoring best practices as well as frequently encountered obstacles and limitations, and moderate a panel of mentoring award-winning soil scientists who will share lessons learned on how to experience a positive, satisfying relationship with their mentees. This part of the session will be followed by a Q&A period where all attendees will be able to share their concerns and comments. The session will end with a mixer that will give early-career participants an opportunity to network with more established society members.
