Many studies have been conducted on the effects of earthworms on the movement of chemicals through the soil.  However, these studies were mostly focused on the effects of earthworms in a field setting and did not focus on the underlying mechanism.  Our study, consisted of a laboratory monolith study, to determine soil physical property parameters, and using these to calibration a model.  Model simulations were then run using the laboratory data, as well as field measurement to determine the potential for the effect of earthworms on the dispersion of a chemical added to the soil.  The result of the study will be discussed.
