Selection of cotton genotypes for drought tolerance is commonly performed through testing in irrigated and dryland locations over a broad geographic area. However, another aspect of drought tolerance, the ability to withstand episodes of extreme drought, may add additional information in our quest to select adaptable cultivars. This poster outlines four studies in which we have conducted research on persistent and episodic drought in cotton, and some of our findings from both.
