What the Pcast Report Means to You: Informal Science Policy Discussion

Oral Session

Special Sessions

The recent PCAST Report: Agricultural Preparedness & the Agriculture Research Enterprise urged the federal government for $700M in additional dollars for new agricultural research due to new challenges: climate change, land and water resources and new pests.  So what does this mean to you? Meet one of the report’s co-authors, Dan Schrag, a Harvard Professor of Geology, who wants to discuss the political landscape with graduate students and others, about how the PCAST Report impacts you and the federal support of research and education in the agronomy and crop and soil sciences.

The President’s Council of Advisers on Science and Technology (PCAST) is an advisory group of the nation’s leading scientists and engineers who will advise the President and Vice President and formulate policy in the many areas where understanding of science, technology, and innovation is key to strengthening our economy and forming policy that works for the American people.

Please also join Dan Schrag as the Lunch & Learn speaker at Noon on Tuesday Nov. 5:
