Session Description: Forested wetlands are complex ecosystems that provide important functions critical to the quality of the environment and to society. Belowground processes drive those important functions and the numerous ecosystem services that forested wetlands provide. We invite presentations that highlight biogeochemical processes in forested wetland soils.  Those contributions can include studies on carbon and nutrient cycling, hydrologic processes, elemental cycling, redox-related dynamics, and biological communities (e.g. microbe or root investigations) as they relate to management, environmental changes (e.g. land use or climate), or long-term sustainability.
