Session Description: Unmanned aircraft systems are gaining a lot of interest not only among farmers but also among researchers and the general public. These systems can be used to acquire images in high detail and frequency. On the other, they also have their own challenges, such low payload capacitly limiting the type of sensors that can be mounted. UAVs are generally operated at low altitudes, causing a limited field of view but large differences in view angles. The purpose of this symposium is not only to discuss options on how to overcome these challenges but also to show case new opportunites for remote sensing based applications.
