Abstract:
DuPont Pioneer is working with growers to apply data analytics to agricultural decision support systems through EncircaSM services including, but not limited to, nitrogen management and early season planting services. We understand the value decision support systems can provide to farmers and recognize the opportunity such systems bring to help increase yield, minimize operation costs, and maximize return on investment. Despite the challenges that are present when handling a volume and variety of data, DuPont Pioneer believes opportunities exist to integrate weather data, soil attributes, mathematical models and subject matter expertise, among other factors, to gain a deeper understanding of agronomic needs and provide greater foresight to agronomic decision-making. Our iterative modeling and software development process increases our ability to provide critical IT solutions targeted to the most relevant needs of our customers. It also provides room for rapid development of ideas, research and implementation, fueled by customer and Pioneer services agent input and feedback. Working with a variety of collaborators, we seek to deliver science-driven decision support systems that provide customers with real-time management suggestions that can help to maximize their profit.
