Abstract:
The importance of seed storage on the production process is critical, because itis linked to the preservation of the physiological and sanitary quality of the seeds, by reducing the incidence contamination of pests and microorganisms and minimizing the deterioration rate. The objective of the research was to evaluate the physiological quality of soybean seeds Glycine max (L.), using cultivars with GMO Technologies RR1 e INTACTA RR2 PRO,packed in high density kraft paper bags, watching their development over storage  180 days, with a water content of 13 (% b.u). Right after the experiment establishment, the seeds were evaluated for vigor, germination and plant quality. For long time storage evaluation, the tetrazolium test and electrical conductivity testwere conducted to establish the germination and vigor of the seeds. The experimental delineament was completely randomized in double factorial 4 x 7, being four soybean cultivars, and 7 storage periods (0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 days), with four replications each. The seeds were storage in commercial storage conditions in the Midwest region of Brazil. The cultivar NA 7337 RR performed a better the percentage of germination and vigor throughout the 180-day storage period, with germination culminating in approximately 94.42%.
