Abstract:
Significant improvements in agricultural productivity and sustainability have been made in the past several decades due to the introduction of new technologies such as hybrid seeds, improved farm mechanization, advanced breeding technologies and biotechnology.  Digital agriculture is a new set of technologies that will help growers continue to increase productivity in a sustainable manner.  Advances in the collection, analysis and utilization of environmental and operational data are driving the development of digital agriculture.  Data from multiple sources and the tools of data science are used to develop predictive models, and these models form the basis for software tools that provide decision support and advice for growers.  The continued development and implementation of digital agriculture promises to allow continued enhancement in sustainable production.
