97 Symposium--Efficient Resource Utilization for Improving Crop Productivity and Environmental Stewardship
Oral Session
C02 Crop Physiology and MetabolismResource utilization and the challenges of global food security are a hot topic – land, soil, water, and plant nutrients are necessary for crop production yet overuse or misuse of finite resources has environmental repercussions. Academia and industry continue to develop new tools to improve crop productivity and sustainability, and a more thorough use of these physiological and agronomic tools globally is needed. Speakers from across the scientific and political spectrum of physiology, ecology, agronomy, nutrient management and plant breeding would be gathered to offer their views, with the goal of developing a greater understanding of alignment and divergence and where new research and implementation efforts will have the greatest impact.
