152 Chemical Processes Responsible for Carbon Fluxes: II

Poster Session
SSSA Division: Soil Chemistry
Intimate association of organic matter with mineral phases has been acknowledged as a fundamental mechanism for stabilizing organic compounds against biological degradation, controlling the long-term sequestration of organic matter in terrestrial ecosystems. Understanding the dynamics of organic matter within the mineral matrix at the organo-mineral interface at the micro- and nano-scales is essential for understanding the processes controlling the quantity, quality and turnover of organic carbon attached to mineral particles. This poster session will focus on investigations elucidating chemical processes responsible for soil carbon fluxes.
