Session Description: Because large-scale field application of biochar is currently cost prohibitive, novel and value-added applications must be identified to make use of this valuable resource. The goal of this symposium is to bring together researchers who are working on novel and value-added applications of biochar. Potential biochar applications include uses in: production greenhouses; environmental remediation; forestry; turf grass management; as a livestock feed additive; and in treating manure slurry, drinking water, waste water, and storm water.
