Abstract:
The Nature Conservancy is a global conservation organization which has built its agriculture strategy around the concept of sustainable intensification. This has not been uncontroversial, in a world where examples of unsustainable intensification are far more common, and where Jevons' Paradox haunts attempts to slow agricultural expansion through intensification. This talk will give the Conservancy's perspective on where and how to move towards more sustainable intensification, in the US and beyond.
