Abstract:
Agricultural Experiment Stations face many challenges fiscally and a changing audience.   This talk will address the issues at the Utah State Experiment Station and what we did to meet these demands. Innovation is critical to meeting the changing demands and needs for Experiment Station farms and facilities.  The types of research are changing, as is the complexity of concerns associated with Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) units.  We have developed a strategy that meets the emerging needs of our crop and animal research as well as the significant production needs to remain financially viable.  This has been accomplished by targeting the expectations and function of each facility to meet specific goals and expectations.  Flexibility and adaptability will be key to success of these facilities in the years ahead.
