Abstract:
Field phenotyping using information dreived from data collected from small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) holds great promise for accurate and affordable high spatial and temporal resolution phenotyping. We will present results of weekly overflights with combinations of fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Our model is to outsource management of the sUAS piloting. Challenges in data management, analytics, and logistics will be reviewed.
