Performance Assessment and Program Design for GHG Mitigation from NRCS Conservation Practices.

USDA/NRCS has a number of conservation programs that are well aligned with promoting C sequestration and GHG mitigation on the nations farmlands, some of which have been included in the recently announced USDA Climate Building blocks.  This talk will discuss science needs to help support investment in C friendly conservation programs, focusing on quantification and inventory improvements,  to ensure that soil health, soil information systems, and C sequestration benefits are maximized.
