Abstract:
The future of agronomy will depend on strengthening the partnerships and communication among all stakeholders in the production chain.   Just as IPM relies on an integrated plan containing cultural, chemical and biological components, production plans moving forward will benefit from integrating social, economic and agronomic goals of the community of stakeholders.   Agriculture is more and more influenced not only by the science behind our practices, but also by the goals and beliefs of all from field to fork including production partners as well as policy partners, lending partners and community partners.  The future of agronomy will become more about optimizing the entire process of production instead of each stakeholder maximizing their portion creating a possible conflict for another stakeholder.
