271 Manure Management: Maximizing Plant Production and Nutrient Use Efficiency

Oral Session
ASA Section: Environmental Quality
Livestock manures can be a rich source of nutrients essential for plant production in cropping systems.  Proper utilization and management of manures can optimize nutrient use efficiency and ultimately reduce environmental concerns.  Topics in this session can include but are not limited to: manure mineralization potential, application method/placement, application timing, variable rate technology, and nitrogen transformation inhibitors.
