Session Description: In times of growing scarcity, crops must not only feed people and animals but should also provide some environmental benefit. Legumes are an important crop for the future due to their ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen. Tropical legumes have ongoing production and societal challenges that are being addressed on many levels. This poster session may address any issue of tropical legumes including breeding and varietal improvement, germplasm adaptation, seed systems, agronomic production, nutrition, utilization, fertility needs, legume value chains, and smallholder access to legumes in the tropics. Graduate student competition included in this session.
