Keywords: Hydrological Processes, Remote Sensing and Soil Properties

Session Description: Potential applications of remote sensing (RS) to soil physics and hydrology are quickly becoming tangible with the recent launch of 5 NASA earth science missions over the past few years in conjunction with evolution of airborne, field-based and laboratory RS methods. Various algorithms and techniques have been developed in recent years for estimating/monitoring soil static properties (e.g. hydraulic properties), state variables (e.g. water content) and fluxes (e.g. evaporation/evapotranspiration). This session will highlight recent developments/advances in RS algorithms and techniques which potentially benefit soil physics and hydrology community.
