Abstract:
Ramie have been used for fiber materials in korea traditionally, but in recent years the concern for ramie leaves for food industry such as tteok(a kind of korean rice cake) industry is increasing very highly, so the study for eatable ramie is required for the expansion of ramie consumption. Moreover, the ramie races for food industry are not established, so the natural species is cultivated in general, therefore it is very important to select the ramie races for food industry such as rice cake, tea, beverage and so on.

This study was investigated to compare the physiochemical properties among 9 ramie races selected in yeonggwang agricultural technical center to select the eatable ramie races for food industy,

The content of total phenols and total flavonoides was very higher in YG90 among 9 ramie races tested and the effect of antioxidant was higher also. And the content of folate was higher in YG90 and YG40, that of ascorbic acid was higher in YG33, YG39 and YG65
