Abstract:
We developed an inexpensive gateway-node data logger system based on the popular Arduino microcontroller for an on-farm research project. Data from SDI-12 TDR soil water sensors, soil temperature sensors and humidity sensors are collected by nodes and transfered to the gateway via LoRa radio at intervals defined by the program sketches. Data stored on microSD cards is downloaded from the gateway via Bluetooth to any Android based device using a simple terminal app.
