Abstract:
With only two percent of the U.S. population engaged in agriuclture and over 80% living in cities, there is a severe dissconnect between the average U.S. citizen and the agricultural landscapes and processes that support our daily lives. This presentation discusses various strategies, from urban agriculture to botanical garden exhibits, that can be leveraged to educate the urban public about contemportary agriculture both in the U.S. and overseas.
