Abstract:
4-H is a Youth Development Program designed for youth ages 5-18 to develop over 36 life skills through hands on learning. With the help of volunteers and working with many community partners, Hillsborough County, Florida 4-H professionals make positive impacts on K-12 youth.

In the 2015-2016 4-H year, 26,523 youth were enrolled in Hillsborough County 4-H participating through many delivery modes including but not limited to traditional 4-H clubs, day camps, workshops, mentor programs, after-school/in-school clubs, career exploration days, judging contests, and school enrichment programs. With Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math (STEM) used to engage youth, 4-H participants are a prime resource for the future.

Partnerships with University and Extension Faculty, research centers, area school districts, local businesses, and others strengthen the outreach and impact of 4-H programming. Consulting and volunteering are just some ways a person can impact youth resources for the future. Suggestions will be made regarding partnering with your local 4-H programs to impact youth and encourage future scientists.
