81 Symposium--Recent Advances in Soil Physics Instrumentation and Sensors
Oral Session
SSSA Division: Soil Physics and HydrologySoil physical property sensing forms a backbone for agricultural and environmental research. Novel sensors and instrumentation are being developed, as well as expanded applications to support research, management and decision making. Traditional soil property sensing devices for bulk soil-dielectric permittivity, -electrical conductivity and -temperature continue to improve. In addition, novel measurement instruments continue to be developed with expanded applications beyond soil properties to include hydrological and thermal processes of interest and beyond. This symposium will feature invited speakers working at the cutting edge of measurement technology development who will describe present and potential future sensing capabilities.
