233 Information Delivery Tools to Enhance Agricultural Productivity and Profitability for Smallholder Farmers

Oral Session
ASA Section: Global Agronomy
Advances in technology provide unique opportunities to improve productivity and profit margins for smallholder farmers in Africa as in other developing countries.  For example the use of cell phones to access soil information, or agricultural inputs, the use of text messaging by input vendors to meet with groups of farmers and for rural banking is changing the way farmers do business. Participants will share scalable lessons learned.
