Session Description: The largest cities in the Tampa Bay Area are Tampa in Hillsborough County, and the cities of St. Petersburg and Clearwater in Pinellas County. The population of the Tampa Bay Area is estimated at 3,030,953 people as of January 2017 and between 2010 and 2015 the population is estimated to have grown 6.9%. We will explore urban soil survey, stormwater management, green infrastructure and community gardens in Tampa and St. Petersburg area.  We will visit the facilities of Urban Food Park (Ecovillage project with another non-profit partner, Action Labs, Inc.) to look at their gardens, check out their soil and taste their produce.  We will also be looking at other community gardens and stormwater infrastructure systems within the metropolitan area.
