Title: Symposium--Managing Soil and Water Resources in a Changing Climate

Organizers: Glenn V. Wilson and Wenxuan Guo
Moderator: Glenn V. Wilson
Lead Community Sponsor: U.S.-Sino Agricultural Research Forum Community
Cosponsor:
Community Cosponsor: Solar Corridor Crop System Community
Format: Oral Symposium
Keywords: groundwater, soil degradation, soil health and water quality

Session Description: Both USA and China face challenges of managing our soil and water resources to prevent soil degradation, groundwater depletion, and water quality decline while sustaining agronomic productivity. Resource management is particularly difficult considering climate changes that impact soil and water resources which have feedback linkages that can affect the climate.  We will accept presentations on climate change impacts on soil health, carbon sequestration, and crop/soil management strategies to alleviate these impacts, as well as climate change impacts on surface and groundwater use, recharge, and quality at local, regional, and national scales using either experimental or modeling approaches.
