Session Description: Organic farmers use multiple strategies to supply nutrients to their crops, including cover crops, manure, compost, and approved inputs. However, questions remain as to the synchronicity between nutrient availability and crop nutrient demand, and how to best strategize management to meet crop needs and minimize negative environmental impacts. This symposium discusses recent research investigating soil nutrient dynamics in organic production systems. An international view will be included within the symposium, with researchers from the EU contributing their experience and perspectives.
