Session Description: Exploiting GxExM synergies is key to closing the yield gap in wheat production around the world, which is a major focus of the Wheat Initiative’s Expert Working Group for Agronomy.  The symposium will address the following topics: 1. Yield gaps in wheat: an international challenge to enhance productivity; 2. Using models to identify critical gaps in GxExM wheat systems; 3. Coarse and fine regulators of wheat yield: the role of management, environment, and genotype; 4. The role of agronomy in improving and stabilizing wheat yield in developing regions; and 5. Coupling the GxM components to enhance nutrient management systems.
