Session Description: Think that what goes on in Washington, DC has nothing to do with you? Receiving funding from USDA, NSF, DOE or any other federal agency gives you a vested interest in our government. Congress controls funding to these agencies, which determines the grants and fellowships they award. Get an "€œadvocacy 101"€ lesson and learn why it's critical to engage in advocacy. Learn about advocacy activities offered through the Science Policy Office. Panelists will each give brief presentations before opening the floor for Q&A. One on one conversations between small groups of students and individual panelists to follow. Registration includes lunch.
