Session Description: Exploiting GxExM synergies is key to closing the yield gap in wheat production around the world, which is a major focus of the Wheat Initiative’s Expert Working Group (EWG) for Agronomy. The session will address the following topics: 1. State of the art in wheat agronomy research: current understanding and future opportunities; 2. Maximizing GxExM: management effects on wheat plasticity for yield; 3. Coarse and fine regulators of wheat yield: the role of management, environment, and genotype; 4. Integrated management of pests, weeds, and pathogens; and 5. Coupling the G x M components to enhance nutrient management systems.
