Format: Oral Symposium
Keywords: Seed quality, assessment methods and technological advances

Session Description: Humanity depends on high quality seeds to meet their food, fiber, fuel and land management needs; maintain or improve agricultural productivity; and buttressing robust domestic and international agricultural trade. However, seed quality represents a multi-dimensional property linked to fundamental and applied aspects of seed developmental physiology, eco-physiology, environmental interactions and technological aspects of seed production, delivery and management. The complexity of seed quality gives rise to new and adapted methods to assess this important component of crop production. Our goal in this session is to learn about and discuss recent advances for the evaluation, enhancement and management of seed quality.
