Session Description: Sustainable Intensification of smallholder systems has the potential to improve productivity, farmer livelihoods and resilience while conserving environmental resources. However, scaling up sustainable intensification practices presents unique challenges due to the spatiotemporal diversity and complexity of smallholder systems as well as smallholders' limited access to information, extension services and resources. This symposium will discuss innovative methods and technologies being used to effectively scale-up sustainable intensification of smallholder systems. Promising approaches and case studies from around the world will be presented.
