Format: Poster Topical Session
Keywords: Carbon, Climate Change, Soil Chemistry and Spatial Scales

Session Description: Climate change is largely driven by alteration of global carbon cycles. Soils represent the largest terrestrial carbon pool, and are a critical component of the carbon cycle. In recent years, advances in analytical capabilities have greatly improved our understanding of molecular-scale soil carbon interactions. However, to fully comprehend the potential for soils to impact, and mitigate, climate change translation across spatial scales to link to global processes is required. This session will consider soil carbon chemistry at varied spatial scales, connecting these scales to provide insight of how soil chemical processes impact global carbon cycling and climate change.
