Session Description: Climate change threatens agricultural production and increases the vulnerability of people dependent on agriculture. The 2018 US Climate Assessment Report lays out the devastating effects of a changing climate on agriculture, the environment, and the national economy. Understanding the potential impacts of changing climate in the agricultural sector may require cross-disciplinary ideas and solutions. Climate-smart agricultural practices could transform and reorient agricultural systems to support food security under the new realities of climate change. This symposium will bring experts in agriculture and climate change policy and practices to discuss the potential path forward to address this challenge.
