Title: Symposium--Advances in UAV-Based Remote Sensing for Irrigation Management

Organizer: Huihui Zhang
Lead Community Sponsor: Biophysical Measurements and Sensors Community
Cosponsor: ASA Section: Climatology and Modeling
Community Cosponsor: Sensor-Based Water Management Community
Format: Oral Symposium
Keywords: Irrigation, Model and UAV

Session Description: With the increasing availability of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), it is possible to acquire real-time information on soil and crop conditions at various temporal and spatial scales. However, use of this information on irrigation management has been limited. The purpose of this symposium is to examine and promote the use of UAV-based remote sensing data for irrigation water management, specifically in the areas of crop stress monitoring, crop water use estimation, UAV-based precision irrigation, and integration of system models with real-time remote sensing data.
