Session Description: Exploiting GxExM synergies is key to closing the yield gap in wheat production around the world, which is a major focus of the Wheat Initiative's Expert Working Group (EWG) for Agronomy. The session will address the following topics: 1. State of the art in wheat yield gap research: current understanding and future opportunities; 2. Maximizing GxExM: management effects on wheat plasticity for yield; 3. Investigating production practices and genotypes to minimize the wheat yield gap; 4. Constraints to producer adoption of new technologies; and 5. Looking ahead: how do we empower research on wheat G x E x M?
