Format: Oral Topical Session
Keywords: Cover Crop, Management Practices, N Losses and N-use-efficiency

Session Description: In many cropping systems, nitrogen is considered the most limiting factor in crop production.  Therefore, N fertilization (organic or inorganic) is being added excessively to the agricultural land to maintain or increase crop yield. As a result, the possibility of N leaching into the groundwater and N2O emission could be highly possible and could create an environmental risk.  This session will focus on the management practices such as cover crop, crop rotation, residue management, fallow frequency, tillage practices, and others that could increase N-use-efficiency and decrease N losses to the environment (leaching or emission).
